Class of 1960 needs a Motto

This week I happened to hear the Statler Brothers sing "The Class of '57 Had its Dreams." This made me want to find a motto for the 'Class of 60.' Our class had its dreams just like all graduating high school classes.

Some of us found and fulfilled our dreams; some of us were not so lucky. Some of us grew rich in material wealth; some of us have the essentials, but we will always be the 'Class of 60.' We will always have this bond that will never be broken. No time was this bond more apparent than in our finest hour when the 'Class of 60' refused to let a friend lay unclaimed without a proper Christian burial. It only took one clear call and the class leaped into action, pouring out love, money, and gifts for our fallen classmate. He may have been abandoned by family ... but not by the 'Class of 60.'

This bond has grown stronger over the years and has taken on a 'spiritual' aspect. It is this spiritual aspect that will allow the 'Class of 60' to have more finest hours (hopefully in other, less sad ways!), but finest hours nevertheless!

What is a fitting motto for such an awesome class?
What is that one sentence that can describe the lasting love, compassion and generousity of the 'Class of 60?' It will be fun to
find out what members of the 'Class of 60' think should be a motto for our class. Ask the class to send in suggestions and let the class vote on the best motto. To the winner, we will send a Certificate of Accomplishment--Hurray!! Wow!! Hipsville, Man!!

The end of the story: There were 7 excellent suggestions for class motto, there was a poll. Strong and Faithful, the Class of 1960 received 4 votes. Classmates by Birth, Friends by Choice received 2 votes, the others received one each. The top choices are headings in bold on the right-hand column of the blog where classmates and topics are listed, with a compilation of the others joining them to express the general feeling of the bond between us all:
Strong and Faithful: The Class of 1960 lives life fully in a concerned, caring and committed bond that lasts because we are
Friends by Choice!
