Does any body remember the day at RHS when some chemicals were mixed together and a noxious cloud drifted out of the chemistry classroom into the hallway and we had to go outside? The students were blamed, but the chemicals were those given to them by the teacher.
When I went finally went back to school, 20 new elements had been discovered in 20 years since high school! Fortunately, the old ones were still the only naturally occuring elements. When the professor asked a question, the answer would bubble up somewhere from a forgotten place, left there from Mrs. Jordan's classroom.
