The way home is now a one-way street going the wrong way?
Thanks to Ronnie for searching the archives for the 1920s photo. The modern photo is from the Chamber of Commerce or something local. This town was built to last.

This picture of Downtown Rockmart brings back a flood of memories. I can almost smell the paint on the new
"Western Flyer" bicycles at the Western Auto store where I'd dream of having one someday. The smell of the oiled wood floors in the five & dime stores! Having to sit on the booster seat when Mr. Brown cut my hair. The "Woody Willow" puppet show in the back room of the City Drug Store on the B&W TV set.
The Band and Majorettes from Booker T. Washington High school marching through town with such precision. The scooter at the Economy Auto store that Gene P. got,and the amazement of watching a cookie bake in the "radar" oven there. AND ON AND ON AND ON!
