Military Service

Many from our class are veterans of the military, joining around the time of the Cuban crisis, which some of us didn't really understand the import of, or drafted.

Duane D -- "...joined the Georgia Army National Guard while still in high school, Feb 29, 1960. I served 41 years with the Georgia Guard, retiring Mar 1, 01 with the rank of Master Sergeant. I also was employed with the National Guard from Jan 2, 70 to Mar 28, 1998."

Bill V --"... enlisted in the U.S. Army January 14, 1965, received a direct commission as a 2nd lieutenant April 2, 1966, and was released from active duty April 1, 1968, but remained in the Reserves, where I was promoted to captain."

Terry - Air Force "I was in the USAF for over 7 years."
